Dear carshare.co.nz users,

On 30 November 2009 carshare.co.nz shut down permanently.

We started carshare.co.nz in 2004 in reaction to NZ's poor public transport system and that Kiwis had one of the highest rates of car ownership per capita in the world. Considering the impacts of climate change and NZ's clean green image we found this an astonishing fact.

Since then car-sharing and awareness of sustainability issues in NZ has started to take off. There are now many websites offering this type of service, and some new well supported government initiatives for you to take advantage of - just Google words like 'carpool' and 'carshare' to get some of the options.

We've taken great satisfaction in providing the carshare.co.nz service to you over the years, however it is now time for us to step aside and work on other projects.
